Dr. Angela Gibson is an educator with a focus on student success, achievement, and personal and professional growth. She achieved the rank of Professor at American Public University System. She serves as faculty for the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) Institute for Professional Development training participants, facilitating workshops, and serving as a mentor to professional educators. She also teaches as an adjunct Lecturer in the doctoral Educational Leadership program, the Higher Education Administration Leadership doctoral certificate, and masters of Adult Education program at Texas A&M University – Kingsville. Angela holds a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership, with concentrations in Adult Education and Community College Education from Texas A&M University - Kingsville and received a Master of Arts in Human Performance Systems, with a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design, from Marymount University. She has been published in various peer reviewed journals such as the Journal of Asynchronous Learning Networks, Community College of Research and Practice, and Issues in Educational Research. Additionally, Angela volunteers as an informal STEM educator and science communicator creating learning opportunities and providing outreach at schools, libraries, and with community organizations. She promotes STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and STEAM (STEM with Arts) in on site events and through social media platforms. She is a recipient of the Online Learning Consortium (formerly Sloan Consortium) 2017 and 2014 Effective Practice Award.
