Biographical Information:

Dr. Schmiedekamp is a professor of physics at Penn State University, Abington. Since 1989 she has taught introductory astronomy courses and more recently she has taught astrobiology. In addition she has given numerous presentations on astronomy to general public audiences oriented both toward children and adults. Her involvement in the Solar System Ambassadors program since 1999 is a natural outgrowth of those efforts.
