Rhiley Binns is an experienced informal science educator and space enthusiast. She is skilled in presenting astronomy-based programming to the public in a hands-on, engaging way and in providing safe solar viewing and telescope experiences.
In 2013, Rhiley earned her BA degree in Biology from Central College in Pella, Iowa. Her liberal arts background has been essential to her career: Rhiley is passionate about STEAM-based education and strives to incorporate a variety of disciplines into her work.
Through the lens of science, our everyday lives can be filled to the brim with questions to ask and exciting worlds to explore: the ordinary is elevated to the extraordinary. Rhiley believes her role as an educator is to help others to view our Earth, the universe, and our place in it with a sense of wonder and curiosity. Her favorite missions include Apollo 8 and 12, Curiosity, and Voyager, because they have such prominent human elements that make space seem like it’s truly within anyone’s reach.
