Kurt W. Melvin has been into rocketry and astronomy since 1969, when he was 10 and influenced greatly by the Apollo program. He joined the 4H rocket club in fourth grade. After graduating he became a professional auto-body repairman/painter, mechanic, he started astrophotography in the 80’s, and has pics of Halley’s comet. He also attended telescope-making class with John Dobson at Vivakananda monastery. Kurt has been a member of the Capital Area Astronomy Association at Abrams planetarium for 30 year’s, and current newsletter editor.
