Taylor Peterson is a fine artist and space enthusiast who teaches Art K-12 for Aurora Public Schools in Aurora, Colorado. She was born under a new moon in the swamplands of Northeast Florida, about an hour away from Kennedy Space Center. In 2013 she studied abroad in Rome, Italy, developing her fine art skills before completing her BFA at the University of North Florida with a focus in painting, drawing, and printmaking. Although she has always been inspired by the universe, the concept of flight, and the wonders of the unknown, it wasn’t until she attended a NASA Social and witnessed her first live rocket launch that she began seriously incorporating space science into her art lesson plans. She is ecstatic to be joining the Solar System Ambassadors program and looks forward to inspiring others to make connections between space and art.
