Jason Blaschka is a long time amateur astronomer both visually and photographically. having purchased his first telescope when he was 14. He is one of the founding members of the Fox Park Observatory Trustees from the time it was built in 1998 until 2007. In 2007, Eaton County Parks took over operation of the observatory and he stayed on as the Lead Volunteer/Coordinator and continues to do so today two weekends per month.
Jason tries to get out and observe or image the sky every clear night. He enjoys trying and testing new scopes and equipment when ever he can and enjoys sharing the night sky with whomever will listen, whether the public or his family.
Jason and his wife have five wonderful kids and are very active with the local school district as coaches and volunteers. When time permits, they spend as much time with their family camping, hiking and exploring the great outdoors in Michigan and beyond.
