Biographical Information:

Mick Groszko's interest in astronomy and space began in third grade when he got his first telescope. In high school, he ground a 6" mirror for a Newtonian reflector which he used to explore our Solar System and beyond. Alan Shepherd's first suborbital flight and the first landing on the moon, July 1969, are still etched in his brain. After his retirement in 2007, he was able to renew his childhood astronomy hobby late nights at the telescope. Astroimaging is his main activity in amateur astronomy, but any time he can look through an eyepiece or share that view with others, it is a true joy. He is active in the Northern Michigan Astronomy Club (NOMAC) and as a volunteer at the Headlands Dark Sky Park.
