Melissa MacGregor is a research manager at a multinational technology company in Seattle, Washington.
While finishing her master's degree in business analytics, she was introduced to the NASA Datanaut program -- where she saw how her skills could deepen her understanding of space. As a Datanaut, she was exposed to exoplanet exploration, the sonification of data, heliophysics and solar weather research. In August 2018, she was fortunate enough to witness the launch the Parker Solar Probe and meet Dr. Eugene Parker. She’s been closely tracking the Parker Solar Probe’s mission “to touch the sun” ever since.
In addition to all things solar, her passions include data visualization, data exploration and good data stewardship. She hopes to combine all these interests during her time as a NASA Solar System Ambassador.
