Joalda Morancy is an undergraduate at the University of Chicago majoring in Physics and Music. She is also her school's chapter founder for Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS), an international student-led organization. She is interested in not only interested in space but also in aerospace engineering, bioastronautics, and planetary science. She hopes to pursue one of these topics for graduate studies.
Joalda's passion for space science began with a video of Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield making a sandwich on the International Space Station. Ever since she's been actively sharing her interests with others and hopes to one day herself become an astronaut. Through the SSA program, she hopes to reach out to her community, especially the youth, and teach and inspire them about the world around us.
