Biographical Information:

Andy Poniros has been a NASA volunteer since 1997 and a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador since 2004 . He has a degree in Electrical Engineering and has worked as a Medical Imaging Engineer for 43 years. Andy is certified by NASA to handle Lunar samples, a science reporter for a local Connecticut radio station, produces astronomy and space mission radio shows and podcasts, is an amateur astronomer and telescope maker, and is a member of The Astronomical Society of New Haven. In his spare time, Andy enjoys spending time with his family, educating the public in science and astronomy, and designing and building telescopes.
