Biographical Information:

Bryan Shumaker is a newly retired physician and an avid amateur astronomer who is getting more active since he finally has the time to do so! In his earlier days he ran a university observatory and taught physics and astronomy for a brief time. He has built several telescopes, including a large reflector, a 5" refractor, and numerous accessory items for astronomy. He had articles published in Astronomy, Popular Science, and Sky and Telescope magazines, but mostly enjoys showing people the wonders of the night sky and how to use simple viewing aids such as binoculars and small telescopes. He also enjoys presenting information on new space missions, probes, and astronomy research in general.
